The Simple Stages of SLC Chiropractic Care

Many forms of helpful treatment come in a few different stages, and the realm of chiropractic care is a great example. While no two cases of chiropractic care will be precisely identical, most will typically follow a general path that allows the patient to have their needs evaluated and managed over a period of time.

At Apollo Chiropractic, we’re proud to offer the very best chiropractic care and related services in Salt Lake City, treating conditions ranging from chronic pain and back pain to herniated discs, concussions and more. What are the general stages that care will typically go through for most of our clients? Here is a simple rundown.

Stage 1: Assessment and Relief Care

During the first major phase of a chiropractic treatment plan, the primary goal is to identify the source of pain and discomfort. A thorough assessment of your medical history and physical condition will be conducted in order to customize a treatment plan that will best address your needs.

Once this initial stage has been completed, we’ll begin providing relief care in order to reduce or eliminate your symptoms as best we can. Pain is often the chief complaint, so this initial stage will be focused on providing immediate relief and comfort.

Stage 2: Corrective Care

Once the patient has received some initial relief, we’ll move into the next phase of care: corrective care. The goal here is to address any underlying issues that are causing the condition, such as misalignment in the spine or other structural issues. We’ll provide targeted treatment to correct these issues and help the body restore natural balance.

For instance, if you’re dealing with a herniated disc, we’ll perform spinal adjustments to help re-align the bones in your spine and mitigate pressure on the affected area. On the flip side, if joint restrictions are causing your pain, we’ll target those areas with exercises and stretches to help restore movement.

Stage 3: Maintenance Care

The final stage of care is maintenance care (or wellness care), which serves as the ongoing maintenance for the patient’s condition. This may include regular spine adjustments or massages in order to keep the body flexible and aligned. We’ll also provide the patient with exercises and lifestyle changes that can be carried out at home in order to maintain the progress achieved during care.

Maintenance care is a process that can vary heavily in terms of overall timing and length. Some people will need to come in for regular visits, while others may only require occasional check-ins. Whatever the case may be, we’re here to provide support and advice as needed.
